You may have heard. I moved!
My husband Luke and I have relocated from the North Shore of Massachusetts to put our roots down in upstate New York. The painting commissions continue, however. The pottery is in full bloom, as well, growing in it's new home at Northeast Ceramic Supply (aka Monroe Clayworks) in downtown Troy, NY. Even with this big change, things are moving along. I truly appreciate your support in following along in this journey. The Etsy shop is ever-changing with inventory going in and out. My shelf in the clay studio is filling up, getting ready to be fired! Stay tuned for any news and updates with Sarah Nenno Art and Twin Pots. And stay cool!

If you're in the Spring spirit like me, you're looking forward to those sunny strolls down your street and picking that cheery stray flower that caught your eye. What better way to display your bright, early-Spring finding than to place it in a wise and willing vessel, made for such occasions? I am happy to introduce some new additions to the "Grandplanter" series. These old folks are mountable and mini. May it be one, three, or many, this collection is sure to add a pop to your decor! Please stay tuned for more works in production, including sets of shot glasses. Yes! Shot glasses with grandpa faces. Some see coffee mugs, others see flower pots. These versatile "granny" heads were made to sit on your countertops and shelves while contentedly containing a candle, some greenery, jewelry, etcetera.
Shown above and in the gallery below are 7 of a collection of "Grandplanters" completed this winter. Hand-built from white clay, fired, and glazed, these pots have characters of their own. Have a look! Which is your favorite one? These past two months have been very busy. In between my regular nanny hours, I have been putting in many hours in the studio. The second commissioned painting from this past winter is final complete! Alongside that, I have been hustling to finish brand new works inspired by last fall's trip to Arizona and Utah. There are less than two weeks left until I will be side-by-side with other local artists at the Beverly Arts Festival (June 20, 10 am to 4 pm). With this in mind, I am ambitiously planning to have another HANDFUL of small still-life paintings that I hope will find themselves in the homes of arts fest attendees that day. Since I know you will not be missing out on this summer-in-the-North-Shore-kick-off-event, please be sure to stop by my tent--after you've checked out the new Atomic Cafe and collected all of your newly found, locally created treasures, of course! Meanwhile, here is a peek at one of the paintings (the second commissioned portrait) that will be shown on Saturday June 20th, side-by-side with the original photograph. Seen right: "Untitled." Oil on canvas. 16" X 12", 2015.
Below is the finished product of one of the commissions I was asked to do this past winter. The resolution may appear fuzzy on your computer screen, as this was taken by camera phone. Stay tuned to see the end result of painting #2! "Boat". Oil on canvas, 16" X 20". 2015.
Winter 2015 in New England has been setting records and sending everyone indoors for cozying up with books, flicks, and hot beverages. I found myself at Atomic Cafe downtown for some coffee and to talk visions of new paintings with a kind woman that saw my paintings in that very cafe just 6 months prior. I am glad to share that I will be doing TWO more commissioned paintings this winter. Sketches are under way, and it is almost time to apply some paint to canvas. In celebration, I will post the photos of the five paintings from the "Flesh and Cloth" series that showed at Atomic Cafe this past Spring. To my neighbors, stay warm! To all, thank you for stopping by! - Sarah These paintings are found in the "Artwork" section of this site, under "Paintings". Please contact via the guestbook, email, or in a comment for inquiries about purchasing, reproductions, or any inquiries.
